Playlistr Terms of Service
Effective date: July 23, 2026
1. Agreement to these Terms
These Terms of Service (the "Terms") are an agreement between you and Anatolii Lobanov, an individual doing business as Playlistr in the State of New Jersey, United States ("Playlistr", "we", "us", or "our"). They govern your use of the Playlistr website at playlistr.co and the Playlistr app (together, the "Service").
By creating an account, connecting a music account, or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, don't use the Service.
2. What Playlistr does
Playlistr is a cross-platform music-sync tool. You connect your Spotify and YouTube accounts, then create:
- a Sync Rule to keep a target playlist in step with one or more source playlists, or
- a Smart Rule to apply a rule across every playlist whose name matches a pattern.
Playlistr reads the playlists and tracks in the accounts you connect, automatically matches each track across platforms, and creates or updates the target playlists you choose. We explain what we collect and why in the Privacy Policy.
The Service is currently free. If we introduce paid features in the future, we'll make the terms clear before you're charged. We may add, change, or remove features over time.
Recurring Sync Rules
When you create or enable a Sync Rule or Smart Rule, you instruct and authorize Playlistr to perform the recurring operations shown in that rule, including while you are not actively using the Service. Depending on the source, target, and settings you select, those operations may include reading playlists, creating target playlists, adding or reordering playlist items, updating playlist metadata, and removing playlist items.
Playlistr removes items from a target playlist automatically only when you expressly enable deletion synchronization for that rule. Before enabling a rule, the Service identifies the source account, target account, affected playlist or playlist pattern, enabled write operations, and any applicable playlist visibility setting. You may pause or delete a rule at any time.
3. Your account
- Sign-in. You sign in with a one-time code sent to your email, or with Google. There's no Playlistr password. Because anyone with access to your email or Google account can sign in as you, keep those secure.
- You're responsible for your account. You're responsible for what happens under your account. Tell us at support@playlistr.co if you think it's been used without your permission.
- Eligibility. You must be at least 18 years old and legally capable of entering into a binding agreement to use the Service.
- Accurate information. Keep your account information accurate and current.
4. Connecting third-party platforms
The Service works by connecting to third-party platforms — today, Spotify and YouTube. Your use of those platforms through Playlistr is subject to each platform's own terms, and you agree to comply with them.
Playlistr uses YouTube API Services. By accessing or using YouTube features through Playlistr, you agree to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service and acknowledge the Google Privacy Policy.
Playlistr is an independent service. We are not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by Spotify, Google, YouTube, SoundCloud, or any other platform. Their names and marks belong to their respective owners and are used only to identify the services you can connect.
Connected platforms are outside our control. They can change or discontinue their APIs, rate-limit or suspend access, or change their terms — any of which can limit or interrupt what Playlistr can do. We're not responsible for the acts, availability, or content of any third-party platform.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use the Service in violation of any law, or of a connected platform's terms;
- probe, scan, overload, or try to bypass the rate limits, security, or authentication of the Service or its infrastructure;
- use the Service to infringe anyone's intellectual-property or privacy rights;
- try to access another user's account or data;
- reverse engineer or attempt to extract the source code of the Service, except where the law allows despite this restriction; or
- sell, sublicense, rent, white-label, resell access to, or provide the Service to third parties as a standalone commercial offering without our written permission.
6. User Content and platform data
"User Content" means playlist names, descriptions, rule names, labels, configuration choices, feedback, and other information that you submit directly to Playlistr and in which you hold the necessary rights.
"Platform Data" means information made available by Spotify, YouTube, Google, or another connected platform, including playlist, track, video, channel, artwork, metadata, and platform identifiers. Platform Data remains subject to the rights and terms of the platform and applicable rights holders.
As between you and Playlistr, you retain your rights in User Content. You grant Playlistr a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to access, host, copy, transmit, transform, and modify User Content only as necessary to provide, secure, maintain, and support the Service and perform the synchronization operations you configure.
You authorize Playlistr to access and process Platform Data through the permissions you grant to the relevant connected platform, solely to provide the user-facing features described in these Terms and the Privacy Policy. This authorization ends when the relevant connection or account is terminated, subject to the deletion and retention periods described in the Privacy Policy.
You are responsible for having any permissions needed to create, copy, modify, or synchronize playlist structures and other User Content across the accounts you connect. Playlistr does not claim ownership of music, recordings, videos, artwork, or third-party metadata.
7. Our intellectual property
The Service itself — the Playlistr name, logo, software, and design — belongs to Playlistr's operator or its licensors. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Service for its intended purpose under these Terms, and reserve all rights not expressly granted. Please don't use the Playlistr name or logo without our permission, except to refer to the Service factually.
8. Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement, to the fullest extent allowed by law. In particular:
- Matching isn't guaranteed. Playlistr matches tracks automatically, using the metadata and catalogs of each platform, which differ. We can't guarantee that every track will be matched, that a match is the exact recording you intended, or that any sync is complete or error-free. Please review results that matter to you.
- Platform availability is outside our control. The Service depends on third-party platforms and their APIs, so we can't guarantee it will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free.
- No guarantee against data loss. We take reasonable care, but we don't warrant that your data will never be lost or altered. Keep your own copy of anything you can't afford to lose.
Some places don't allow certain warranty exclusions, so some of these may not apply to you.
9. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent allowed by law:
- Playlistr and its suppliers won't be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data, or goodwill, arising from or related to your use of — or inability to use — the Service.
- Our total liability for all claims relating to the Service won't exceed the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim (which, for a free service, is zero) or USD 100.
Some places don't allow these limits, so some may not apply to you.
10. Termination
You can stop using the Service and ask us to delete your account at any time (see the Privacy Policy for how we handle your data).
We may suspend or end your access if you violate these Terms, if the law or a connected platform requires it, or if continuing to serve you would create a security or legal risk. Where practical, we'll give you notice.
Sections that by their nature should survive termination do — including the User Content license terms, our intellectual-property rights, the disclaimers, the limitation of liability, and the governing-law terms.
11. Changes to the Service and these Terms
We may change the Service, and we may update these Terms from time to time. When we make a material change to the Terms, we'll update the effective date above and, where appropriate, give a more prominent notice. If you keep using the Service after a change takes effect, you accept the updated Terms. If you don't agree, stop using the Service and ask us to delete your account.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Jersey, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules, and the courts there will handle any dispute that isn't otherwise resolved — unless the mandatory law where you live requires otherwise. Nothing in these Terms removes any right you have as a consumer under the mandatory law of your home country.
